Blizzard of 2010

Well Hello Again my dear friends....

Here we are Feb 6th 2010 and those pictures? that's the view all around Philadelphia! that round thing on the right that looks like I cake... that's our patio set table!!!! so much snow! last time I checked the news.... PA had been declared in a state of emergency, no church tmo... 19-20 inches... with lots more to come.... it's so nice and fluffy and white... but so dangerous at the same time... I felt so bad for DH... thought he would have to work in this weather, but when he got to work, they were adviced they would NOT have to go out on the road... so TG for that...

Hoping our next door friends are as nice as they have been before and use their snow blower to clean our driveway and the front of our house with the nice high powered snow-blower they have.... might be wishful thinking but hey u never know.... lol.

Gumpaste Flowers

Here is a collage of some of the gumpaste flowers that we do at Natalie Cakes... You can see some Calla Lilies, Peonies, Fantasy Flower, Rose, Poinsettia, a flower inspired by Alan Dunn (I need to get the name of it so I can post it, cause I just call it the Alan Dunn flower lol) and my favorite... the Orchids.

I pride myself in making the flowers as life-like as possible with the thinest petals you can make and using petal dust to bring them to life...

I have a wedding coming up and will be making some beautiful flowers (I won't tell you what kind, I will surprise you :-) ). I will be posting them as I make them.

Hope you enjoyed the pics...

Firehouse Themed Birthday Cake

This was a cake that was ordered for an EMT that worked in a firehouse. Due to weather conditions the event was cancelled, but as we all know... a cake NEVER goes to waste lol... There was an event at our church the next night and I had already baked 4 dozen cupcakes for it, so I just added the cake as a bonus lol.

Everyone loved how the cake looked and the hatchet (I think that's what is called lol) was the talk of the night, they loved how good it came out. Everyone enjoyed the cake, it was delicious and I even got to network with some great christians from another church and to this day we still keep in touch!
